Hi Corradin,

Actually, I have deployed the application to Azure, and it's running as a service on azure now. but the problem is that when I want to open the URL ,it gives the error(and it happened after I add Identity and Access settings to it)

Hi unccbioinfo,

It could be the case that you haven't deployed your application to Azure yet. You can deploy your application as an Azure service from Visual Studio so that it will be registered as xxx.cloudapp.net. If you like to first experiment locally, you can leave the realm on its default value http://localhost:[portNumber] in the "Identity and Access" tool in Visual Studio.

I customizes Identity and access through VS for my website running on the cloud .these are the setting inside web.config:

and I don't have why it is looking for "/"? instead of showing the default page?

I am trying to add these lines to the service configuration file:

but when I want to update the service on the cloud, gives me this error:

One or more configuration settings are specified for this deployment configuration but are not defined in the service definition file: ???:issuer, ???:AudienceUri, ??:realm:???

I also tried to upload a new configuration file for the service but it fails too due to same error.

what to do?

Exactly, I figured the same when i talked to one of my friend working in Microsoft. The new Management Portal is misleading users to assume that you are creating a new ACS Namespace which can be used in VS2012. Servic Bus internally uses the ACS and appends -sb to the namespace and hence it cannot be used as regular ACS for authentication.

I too reverted to Old Management Portal and created a new ACS, it works like a charm.

Hope the Azure Team will do something to make things less confusing in the new Management Portal.

Jup, just got a call back from Microsoft. You can create an ACS namespace by going to the previous portal (clicking on your name in the upper right part of the azure portal and selecting previous portal).

Finally found the problem:

Although you can use the Identity and Access wizard on an ACS namespace, this will not work on a Service bus namespace. In the previous version of Visual Studio you would click on “Add STS reference”. This menu item is no longer displayed, its equivalent is to run C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Identity Foundation SDK\v4.0\FedUtil.exe.

I'm happy if this issue will be resolved soon or at least a workaround is known. I believe you could update the web.config manually, without using the tool for the time being.

Let's hope this will be resolved quickly.

You are right. I have tried to reproduce your issue and this occurs when I create a new namespace. I was using my old one before (which still works, but is not listed among the service bus namespaces). Maybe it is best to log a ticket with Azure, since this worked fine a month ago.

Hi Corradin,

I just follow the instruction as this:

1-create a namespace in ACS management tool

2-open Identity and Access in VS 2012

3-Select "use windows azure access control service"

4-open configure link and copy namespace and symmetric key there(which I copy from ACS portal->Management Service->Symmetric key)

all the steps are straight forward as you have explained before, but this weird error shows up.

I'm curious what you are doing exactly then, because I just tested it with an invalid key and I get the same error (which makes sense). Are you sure your ACS namespace and management key are correct?
I just created a new visual studio 2012 web site project and verified that it works (tested in both normal and Administrator mode).
